Get Involved!

There are many ways to be involved in PTA – from your time, to goods to financial contributions and donations.  None of our activities would be possible without parent volunteers! Most of these volunteer opportunities involve receiving an email and signing up to help if you are able.

Ways to Get Involved

Committee member –

  • Hospitality – Help provide meals & snacks for teachers. Range of items: homemade or store bought food, drinks or paper goods.
  • Business memberships contact businesses and explain business membership levels, coordinate participation in events and activities
  • Reflections – encourage participation, set up judging & reception for participants
  • Silent Auction – collect, organize and arrange auction items, display items & monitor tables

Volunteer Corps – a group that can be called on when volunteers are needed for help with book fair, event set-up, cookie donations, etc.

Room Parent – one parent from each class helps to coordinate class party volunteers, silent auction baskets & teacher birthday gifts from class.

Beautification –

Help to spruce up the landscaping around the school.

  • Plant trees
  • Rake leaves
  • Pull weeds
  • Decorate the entrance
     

Martin Luther King, Jr Day of Service –

Students, teachers and parents spend a few hours of their day volunteering at an animal shelter, food pantry, John Knox Village, making cards or blankets for those who need them. Look for sign-ups in December!

Event Volunteer –

Family Fun Night – set up, clean-up, monitor activities
Grandparents’ Day – clean-up, help serve food
Carnival – set up, prize table, monitor games and activities, clean up
